BESTIE DAY DATE OUTFIT

Last week I went on a day date with my bestie to see David Sedaris speak. I had never read any of his books, or listened to anything he had done before, but I would go anywhere with her, so when she asked me it was a big ol’ YES. I’m so glad I did b/c he ended up being hilarious with a wonderful amount of inappropriateness. And he is tiny, like me, with the most fabulous wardrobe. It was an incredible thing to witness live. We grabbed a whiskey + margarita on our way which was a little over the top at 2 in the afternoon on an almost empty stomach, but man it was fun! Then we went and pigged out at Jacala’s, a mexican joint on West Ave that I hadn’t been to in about a decade. It used to me my spot with my ex, and I just never make it over there these days. It was nostalgic + so yummy.

Onto the outfit… this is what I wore that day. My favorite Kantha Bae top, called the Butterfly Top. I still can’t believe I scored this baby. It is completely embroidered, which is rare for these one of a kind pieces. I’m wild about the fit + style of it. Paired with my favorite AE jeans (so sad I can’t find these anymore). My new favorite boots from Musse + Cloud (found on Zulilly). And this necklace is coming in my next collection dropping very very soon! It will be full of moons, suns + butterflies!!! I’m very excited about this drop!

Ava has been popping into my outfit shoots lately. And she always acts silly, true to her character. So here’s a few behind the scenes.

TAKE IT EASY // OM & KANTHA

Popping in to share a few different ways to style the Take It Easy lounge set from OM Collection with some of my favorite Kantha Bae pieces. I love finding some really good quality basics that can be worn several different ways. A few months ago I had the gift of getting to try on a bunch of OM Collection pieces when my friend Chelsea visited + I have fallen in love even deeper with this mama owned shop. Not only are they sustainable, but so freakin’ comfortable + versatile. I actually didn’t think I would like the tight cropped top b/c I normally do not wear tight tops, but it has been one of the best layering pieces I have in my closet! I have found myself wearing it way more than expected.

PAREO PARADE

Pareo Parade

Kantha Bae is having a Pareo Parade today, where you can snag two pareos for $80 with code PAREOPARADE! These babies are so multi functional. You can use them as picnic blankets, to lay out in the sun and read a book on, as window curtains (I’m snagging two for this very reason), as tablecloths, baby swaddles, swimsuit sarongs, shawl, light blanket to take to a game or outdoor event, to use on living room forts with your kiddos, there are a few ways to tie them into shirts or skirts even. So many ways to use these beautiful vintage fabrics. And they all have different prints on each side, so it’s like having two in one! They are truly so so beautiful. So of course I had to prance around in my back yard after laying out the other day.

They launch at 10am CST this morning, and these babies sell out quickly, so be prepared!
