I had so much fun shooting this outfit in my new little outdoor space.  This is the beginning of my outdoor hillbilly spa.  I'm so excited to soak in this tub in the heat of the summer with a cold beer.  Ahhhh yes!!!  I have plans to add alot more to this space overtime.  But this is a good start for now!

So, when I put this kimono on, seriously all I want to do is twirl!  It has such a fun feel to it and flows so amazingly, that you literally just want to twirl when you put it on!  Ha ha.  I have to say this kimono already holds a special place in my heart b/c the first night I wore it when it arrived, James and I had a scrabble date that ended up sucking, and I talked him into dancing with me instead over Ray LaMontagne and whiskey.  Probably one of my favorite marriage moments in the past 7+ years.

This hat.  This is the first hat Ive ever owned that is hand-tailored to fit!  I have a very small head, so most of my hats don't fit me properly... or at all really.  I found this nifty hat tape that you can put on the inside of your hat bands to make them fit better, so now all of my hats have it, except this one!  Whisler Civilian hand crafts each hat and they have a wide range of sizes to choose from.  I got the XS and it fits!  I could actually probably have an XXS if it was offered, but this one is a nice fit.  This style is the Cumberland, in Walnut.  I can't wait to style this baby up in an editorial for the spring Bohemian Collective Magazine

Speaking of magazine... I'm full on in mag mode right now.  The days are going by quickly and I have so much to do to make this baby come to life in time!  Maybe Ill do a post soon all about it!  I tossed and turned until around 3 am last night thinking about all the details, so I guess you could say I'm starting to feel a bit overwhelmed.  Just reminding myself to take one step at a time.  At some point I have to figure out when I'm going to do my taxes too!  Eeek!  (deep breath)  It will all get done in perfect timing...

To go along with this little cold front that just blew in, here is an outfit post from a month or so ago!  Ha ha.  Not too long after I got my hair cut.  Actually it was from right after xmas, b/c its what I wore to take my Nanna out for her birthday!  (I'm a little behind on some posts, you can see...) This was one of the most coziest outfits Ive ever worn.  I love love love this Gaia top.  It's so versatile and so gorgeous.  I don't have a whole lot of black in my closet anymore b/c I have to fluffy white babies that get hair all over everything!  But sometimes I come across a piece that is worth the hassle of the lint roller.  This was one of them.

These socks might be the only reason I'm not looking forward to summer ;)  James actually picked them out for me, and I'm in love.  And if my mom were alive, she would be stealing these boots from me, I just know it!

I'm a little bummed about the weather today actually.  It's been so nice this past week.  Although I shouldn't complain one bit b/c so many places are covered in snow!  Texas is so funny with it's weather.  Weve barely had any freezes at all this winter.  Ive already started planting new plants (although I may have jumped the gun).  I only did potted ones though so I could bring them inside if we get another freeze.  But its been so pretty out this week.  James and I did alot of yardwork together and our backyard is looking so nice.  All I want to do is be outdoors and play in the dirt.  But I guess I should take advantage of the cold days too and get lots of work done on the magazine!

Btw, an amazing new giveaway just went live over on the giveaway page, go check it out!

outfit details: kimono - tobi // brown tank top + fringe tank - (I can't even remember) // jeans - hand me downs // hat - garage sale // sandals - blowfish shoes // body chain - hinageshii // copper cuff - silk bone jewels // shadowbox ring + oval ring - bella and chloe // triangle turquoise ring - erica freestone

This post is titled Desire because when I found this hat for $2 at a garage sale all I could think about was Bob Dylan's album cover from Desire... I know that hat is not identical, but something about the vibe of it just reminded me of Dylan.  So everytime I wear it I call it my Dylan hat.  Btw, isn't that album cover just beautiful???  The colors and textures, and that grin on his face.  :)

Hints of spring are coming our way and I couldn't be happier.  Today the sun is shining, and after coming off of a sort of emotionally low week, it feels great.  Yesterday I spent some time in my studio creating for the first time in a long time.  It felt good.  I think I have been going in so many other directions lately that I have lost touch a bit with my own artistic endevours.  It's time to get my creative energies flowing again.  Springtime has a way of allowing that to happen, after so many cold dreary days.

All I know is I am so ready to sit in a river.  I hope we get just enough rain to fill up our river, and then let summer begin!!!  So looking forwards to bbq's and rivertime.

FEATURED BRANDS

Just a little update to let you know I have all the links up on my Featured Brands page now!  A great quick reference to the rad Handmade Artists & Brands I have collabed with here on the blog, the Bohemian Collective and my instagram.  These are all people I personally love, respect & sport.  Ive broken them up in sections of Brands (larger companies or smaller boutiques who sell others brands), Handmade Artists (all handmade jewelry & clothing designers), Herbals (you guessed it, herbal products) and Home Decor.  This will help you to find things a bit quicker if your looking for something specific.  I will update this list as often as possible!

I am beyond blessed and honored to work with so many rad people.  It truly is something that brings me so much joy, to share the work of other artisans I believe it.  Which as many of you know is partly why I started the Bohemian Collective.  My personal world and the world of the boho collective often blend together, so if it's been in a lookbook over there, it most likely has also been featured over here in my personal, day to day style, or on my instagram.  The two worlds definitely collide.

I know it can be hard to find someone sifting through old blog posts, plus Squarespace only shows the latest 30 style posts at a time (such a bummer)... So hopefully this list will be of help to my readers!

A huge thank you to all of the amazing artists and brands who have given me the pleasure & honor to work with you over the years.  It's been an amazing journey and has bloomed some amazing friendships, conversations and so much more.  I will never stop being in awe of art, and the people who make it come to life.
