A PUP + LANTANAS

via rootsandfeathers.com

A couple of weeks ago on our way home from the post office we decided to keep driving instead of turning on our road to go home.  The day was beautiful, Violet was with us, so we just cruised.  One of our favorite things to do.  Although these days I can only go so far before my bladder explodes, so our drives are cut pretty short.  We rediscovered a little place you can pull over and look out over the country and it was full of lantanas, so we had to take pup pictures in them!!!  Just a beautiful little moment of our day I wanted to document...

My back porch is just about my favorite place.  I have my coffee on it most mornings, watching the sun peek through through the trees, saying good morning to the frogs that sleep in my potted plants, letting Bella & Violet out to stretch their legs and roll around in the grass, simply greeting the day.  Almost always greeted by winged creatures, usually hummingbirds, cardinals, scrubjays and the occasional woodpecker in the distance.  The sun peeks through the timbers of my teepee and the gypsy garland I made from leftover bell bottom scraps.  It's my favorite time of day.

I come out to my back porch or yard several times a day to stop and stretch, do some yoga, or just leaning over to touch my toes, or throwing my hands up in the air in prayer to the freedom of living in the country after staring into a screen for a bit too long, so thankful I have this sanctuary to walk right into any time I need the silence.

I love evenings out here too.  All the bugs come out and sing their songs, the frogs wake up from their slumber and hop all over the porch, the stars also come out of slumber.

I wouldn't trade this space for the city any day.  I love this outfit post b/c it captures my space and the feeling I get in it so well.  xo
