THREADS // MAGIC CARPET

via rootsandfeathers.com

Today's threads post is all about these yummy yoga goodies from Yoga Outlet, an online shop that has all your yoga essentials in one place.  Although you definitely don't need any of this stuff to do yoga.  I've been doing it since high school when my mom would take me to class with her, all before I even had my own mat.  But it can be quite nice to have a good quality mat (especially in pregnancy), and some really comfy, stretchy, good fitting pants.

My joints have changed through pregnancy considerably, and this new mat has been a life savor!  It's almost twice as thick as my other mats, and it's pretty much the prettiest thing I've ever seen!  These babies are made in the US, and the design is a hand-painted original by Sophie Leininger of Magic Carpet Yoga Mats.  She, among many other well known designers, sell their work on Yoga Outlet.  They have tons of different yoga mats in their shop, but here is mine in case you want a direct link.  I have owned several different mats over the years and this is by far the best quality one I've ever had.

And these pants... the Onzie Gypsy Pant... love!  They are so comfy, and made from super soft jersey fabric, so you can wear them over and over without them getting wrinkled or saggy!  They come in 8 different patterns too!!!  I'm loving the fold over waist while I'm pregnant.  I can roll it down, or pull it up over my belly for extra support if I want.  And I know they will fit me perfectly once I'm no longer pregnant too.

In case you missed it, we put our new favorite Skyline Fever design on a crop top as well as the original slouchy tee style.  I'm loving it so much!  Remember, you don't have to bare your belly with these tops, you can easily layer them over tank tops or a maxi dress, so many possibilities.  I get so many comments from girls saying they can't do crop tops, so I like to remind them of this.  So many ways to wear a shirt!

So my absence in this space grew bigger than I thought it would this month.  But I can happily announce that I finished the magazine!  It's being uploaded for print and should be released in the next two weeks for sale!  I'm so excited to be done and get it out in the world.  It's been an intense 4 months of working on it, this one took me longer than the last two.  After this one I'm going to take a little break from the mag for a while and focus on other things for a bit.  I won't be saying goodbye, just giving it a rest for a bit.  This one tapped me out and I think it's time to recenter myself and pick up in places that have suffered these last few months b/c of it... for example this blog, and the boho blog, my home and daily chores, skyline fever, and a few other things.

I was going to have the mag printed through a different company this time, and be the one to physically ship them out myself, but last minute yesterday I had a little freak out and realized I just don't want to go there yet.  I'm not ready.  I want to make that transition in the future b/c I will be able to offer the magazine for a little less than I can now, but there will be alot that goes into that change, and at this moment in my life I realized I needed to say no, keep it simple, and let someone else handle the check outs, and the shipping and customer service.  My email inbox was so full that I wasn't able to receive or send emails this weekend.  It's time for a change.  And if you have followed me on instagram at all, this isn't the only aspect of my life I am putting change into.  It's happening from all angles.  Once I get some more free time I'll be able to get more into it all here on the blog.  I have lots to share!

On to this cute outfit.  I look like I'm 14 here, I know.  Ha ha.  But these bell bottoms are so freakin rad!  I sent my favorite little cutoffs over to Shauna of Poor Pitiful Pearl and she turned them into these!!!!  My 15 year old heart would of died if I had these in my wardrobe then!  I adore them.  She can do the same for you with any of your cutoffs!!!  I love how she recycles so many fabrics, nothing goes to waste.  Most of the jeans she revamps get turned into bloomers, so instead of throwing out the bottom part after cutting them off, she uses them for scraps for these!  Perfect!

And James and I decided to put our Love Wild design on another tank.  I love my red tee.  When we first got them in I wasn't sure I was going to b/c red is one of my least favorite colors, and believe it or not, that tee is probably one of the most worn tees in my whole closet.  I adore it.  So, why not make it in a tank too?  It's now available in the shop!  And we made a sale section too and added a few items we are going to discontinue making after they sell out!  More coming soon!

LUNA OWL

I'm super excited to share that our new Luna Owl design is now available on 3 different shirt styles in Skyline Fever's shop!  A little below on the design...

The day of the past Full Moon / Total Lunar Eclipse / Blood Moon - I spent the whole day outside, in my teepee, with my self, my thoughts, my tools, my sketchpad, my tea, and the moon.  I did not want to let a moment go by of this special time wasted on work or something meaningless.  I spent the day in intention, and I am so glad I did.  It filled me up so deeply, and felt so healing.

I haven't drawn for the pure pleasure of drawing in quite some time.  I could even say years.  I had no idea the owl I drew was going to be a shirt design until I was finished.  I just allowed myself to sketch.  It was a feeling that took over, like I got lost in the art.  My eyes were blurring and crossing as my pencil just flew across the page almost like it had a mind of its own.  It was awesome.  Made me realize how much I love drawing, and how long its been since I let myself get lost in the muse like that.  I may have to make this a full moon ritual.  It was wonderful.

The moon was incredible too!  Did you get to witness it where you are?  What did you do on this amazing day?  I'd love to hear everyone else's experiences. Ive been wanting to sit and write a blog post in depth about it, I have just had such little time lately.  I am crazy knee deep in the magazine creating, have had company to do photoshoots, among many other things.  Life has just been to full to even blog much.  But I'm starting to see the magazine come into itself and it's getting me super excited for it's release.  It most likely will still be about a month before it comes out, but fingers crossed it will be even sooner!
